“As we get past these lean times and enter into more prosperous ones, we should look at ways to make our city ever better. One important issue is continued efforts to promote a clean and beautified city. It serves everyone in our city to keep our air and water supply clean, as well as to take steps to protect the natural beauty of the area. Among other things, we must work to clean up our beautiful local system of parks so that they maybe enjoyed fully by all our residents.
It is sad and counterproductive that certain groups try to make a rivalry between our environmental and business communities. In truth, it serves both sides’ interests, as well as the city at large, to work with each other. A clean and beautiful city will attract others to the area, thus bringing a larger customer and investment base, while a prosperous and thriving city will have the money and time to devote to various projects, especially ones related to protecting our environment.”
